In 2012, our lives took an unexpected turn when Scotty was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. We were immediately stunned, overwhelmed, and scared. We weren't sure how to face the fear and discouraging thoughts we felt each day.

But the diagnosis also became an opportunity to grow deeper in our faith and trust in God’s plan. We leaned into the support of family and friends, the strength of our relationship, prayer, and the promises of Scripture to guide us. One verse became a cornerstone for us:

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." – Jeremiah 29:11

This verse reminded us that even in the midst of uncertainty, God’s plans are good and full of hope. It was this hope that inspired us to look for positivity and encouragement from others walking a similar path.

As lifelong storytellers—Scotty began his career as a news videographer and Rebecca as an anchor and reporter—we felt called to use our gifts to uplift others in the Parkinson’s community. That’s how Positively Parkinson’s was born. We began seeking out stories of resilience, creativity, positive outlooks, and faith among those living with Parkinson’s, hoping to inspire others and point to the beauty that can still be found in life’s challenges.

These stories have strengthened our faith and show us that even when the road is hard, God provides blessings in unexpected ways. By sharing these journeys, we aim to remind others that they are not alone and that there is always hope, purpose, and joy to be found.

At its heart, Positively Parkinson’s is a testament to God’s faithfulness and the strength He gives us to overcome. We believe that challenges can be opportunities for growth, connection, and discovering the incredible ways God works in our lives.

We invite you to join us in celebrating these stories of hope and faith. Together, we can shine a light on the strength that comes from trusting God’s plan.

In His Grace,
Scotty and Rebecca
